The party “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” should be reformed in accordance with the new challenges in order to be at the forefront of political life.
This was stated by the chairman of UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko during a meeting with heads of regional party organizations and most active party members on May 19.
“Now the authority is in a catastrophic state – the level of credibility is falling. Citizens will believe the new political forces that are not only critical, but may also offer something for the economy and politics. So we should start an ideological debate and define who we are,” said Taras Batenko.
The politician has also mentioned that the party intends to update its ideology and to run in full force for a sort of mini parliamentary elections, which will be held in autumn in territorial communities that cover nearly half of the country. Therefore, in the near future the concept of a new party program will be developed. The project will be discussed in regional organizations. And it is planned to adopt a new program at the Party Congress this autumn.
The chairman of the Maidan of Foreign Affairs Fund, UKROP member Bohdan Yaremenko and MPs from UKROP are expected to join the development of party ideology. “Ideology is our “common second name” in the party, which will help to understand who we are. It is necessary for long-distance race when we not only go to our voters in villages, towns or districts, but when we are examined under a microscope by analytics and competitors. Ideology means first of all the values, which will be turned into reality,” stressed Bohdan Yaremenko.
