Recently in Korostyshiv in Zhytomyr region the unknown have attacked a member of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” party Victor Didkivskiy. On April, 20 the victim passed medical examination in Zhytomyr regional bureau of forensic medical examination. The victim will provide the results to Korostyshiv police that has already opened a criminal proceeding on the beating. The UKROP member was attacked on April, 18 around 23.00 at the door of his house on Kyivska Street, 103. Now the victim is taken to a city hospital with concussion and moderate injuries.
Victor Didkivskiy relates criminals’ actions to the fact that he was actively fighting against the activities of the criminal gang that terrorized local residents. People suffered from numerous attacks, physical violence and extortion. Victor Didkivskiy and his party fellows have repeatedly filed written statements about the crimes to the police.
“We demand justice! So that bandits could not terrorize the city and residents were not afraid of going outside, being convinced that they live in the state based on the rule of law. So that people were not caught near their houses and beaten with fittings, or taken into the forest. So that police and prosecutors provided safety to the citizens,” said the UKROP representative.
However, the city prosecutor’s office and the police are in no hurry to improve the situation. So the representatives of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association” have appealed to the MP from UKROP Vitaliy Kupriy regarding such inaction of the law enforcement. According to them, the leader of the criminal gang Andriy Lavrynenko, who was declared wanted by the police, is openly living in Korostyshiv and continuing his criminal activities. The MP has sent an appeal to the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov demanding to take measures to arrest Andriy Lavrynenko.
