While parliamentary parties spend public funds mainly on PR, the political forces that are not represented in the Verkhovna Rada use more effectively the money, received from their members and supporters. The Head of the UKROP Party Secretariat, deputy of Kyiv Regional Council Denys Borysenko has written it on his Facebook page. According to him, last year the largest item of expenditure of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” was financing of party offices, where may appeal everyone who needs help in solving problems, and public reception offices in different regions. The party has spent 1.5 million hryvnias on it. Another half a million hryvnias were the expenditures for salaries of employees who are officially hired by UKROP.
Denys Borysenko has also noted that last year the party received 7 million 610 thousand hryvnias of contributions on its account, as it is reflected in the report. “We openly report on how we use the funds, and that is why the experts of the Eidos Centre have recognized UKROP as one of the most virtuous parties, which are not represented in Parliament,” stressed the Head of the Secretariat.
It is to be recalled, in 2016 parliamentary parties for the first time received public funding – 165 million hryvnias. According to financial reports of the political forces, they spent most funds on their own advertising. For example, Samopomich, Solidarity and Narodnyi Front (People’s Front) used more than a half of budget support on it, and this is taxpayers’ tens of millions hryvnias.
