The adoption of the bill on educational qualification of junior specialist will help to protect the interests of many applicants and institutions that prepare such specialists. The MP from UKROP, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science Iryna Konstankevych told it to the journalists on March 21.
The MP has explained that due to legal conflict colleges and technical schools that prepare specialists of qualification level “junior specialist” in 2016 had to stop their activity and were not able to announce admissions for junior specialist this year. As a result, many graduates who do not have the opportunity to go to the university will remain outside the educational process, and educational institutions of I and II accreditation levels will lose budgetary funding.
“The university admissions process will start soon, and this issue has particularly become a topic of interest. The representatives of teaching staff from different regions of Ukraine have appealed to us with the request to support a bill, which would regulate enrollment of applicants for junior specialist level in technical schools and colleges and educational institutions of I and II accreditation levels until 2019,” said Iryna Konstankevych.
According to the representative of UKROP, after adoption of this bill colleges and technical schools even in July 2017 will have the opportunity to begin admission of graduates for the qualification level “junior specialist”.
It is to be recalled, on March 21, Parliament adopted a bill amending the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” (regarding educational qualification level “junior specialist”). It was supported by 286 MPs.
