The local organizations of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” will participate in the first elections of deputies of village, town and city councils in the united territorial communities and corresponding village, town and city mayors that will be held on April 30, 2017. This decision was unanimously adopted at the 12th Party Congress on March 15 in Kyiv.
“We are going to run in the elections. For us it is very important, as only the party that participates in the elections and gets representation in local councils can claim to be a nation-level political force,” stressed the Head of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko.
The politician called on the heads of regional organizations of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” to take seriously and with all responsibility the selection of candidates, who will be nominated or supported by the party.
The Congress delegates have also voted for approval of the decisions of general meetings and conferences on candidates’ nomination by the party political council.
It is to be recalled, the Central Election Commission has scheduled the elections in 40 united territorial communities for April 30, 2017.
