Ukrainian society does not understand why the Ukrainian authorities, having an agreement with the occupants from some areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions for goods supply, cannot agree with them on releasing our prisoners from captivity. This was stated by the MP from UKROP Oleksandr Dubinin after the rally held by the party near the Verkhovna Rada with a demand to stop trade with the aggressor.
“We are supplying to the separatists, who kill our soldiers, metal sheets, which are used for repairs of armoured vehicles and tanks, or manufacture of armour vests. We can agree with them on everything, but we cannot return our captives. The current blockade of the occupied areas of Donbas is people’s response to the authorities and evaluation of their actions,” said Oleksandr Dubinin.
The politician has reminded that UKROP demands to create a Temporary Investigation Commission (TIC) that will check all aspects of trade with the occupied territories, including the legality of issuing permits for trade with ORDLO, as its number has reached about 97 thousand during the last three years of conflict.
“We should deal with the situation around coal. Because the price according to “Rotterdam plus”, which is about 1,850 hryvnias, is a price at which coal is supplied to the state power stations. But DTEK supplies coal to its own companies at the same price, although this coal is not imported, but taken from the occupied territories, where its cost is 600 hryvnias,” said Oleksandr Dubinin.
The MP also expressed hope that the TIC would include the representatives of Samopomich and Batkivshchyna. “The most important is to create this commission,” said the politician.
It is to be recalled, today near the Verkhovna Rada at the UKROP’s initiative there was held a mass rally, which was attended by the party representatives from different parts of Ukraine, volunteers, ATO veterans and mothers of the Ukrainian prisoners of war. Protesters demanded to include immediately to the parliamentary agenda a draft resolution on the Temporary Investigation Commission for checking the legality of issuing permits for trade between Ukraine and uncontrolled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Also, protesters insisted on immediate adoption of a bill on the status of the occupied territories, which will put an end to economic relations between Kyiv and the occupants. The both documents are expected to be included to the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday. Otherwise UKROP may block the rostrum of Parliament.
