The MP from UKROP Vitaliy Kupriy prepares a complaint to PACE President Pedro Agramunt concerning unfair distribution of seats in the Ukrainian delegation to PACE. The lawmaker wrote it on his Facebook page.

“In violation of paragraph 6.1 of PACE Resolution, which emphasizes the principle of fair representation of political parties or groups in national parliamentary delegations to PACE, the Ukrainian delegation is disproportionate,” wrote Vitaliy Kupriy and published a list of members of the Ukrainian Parliament, who worked in PACE in January. The list shows that half of the delegates are representatives of the pro-presidential faction, despite the fact that there are only 33.5% of its deputies in the Ukrainian Parliament, so the faction should be represented in PACE only by 4 MPs.

“The number of its delegates is one and a half times more than it should be, while the other parliamentary factions are represented by one delegate,” stressed Vitaliy Kupriy.

The MP has also emphasized that the head of the Ukrainian delegation had falsified the list of participants of the last PACE session, and replaced two permanent members of the delegation by the representatives of the ruling faction. Furthermore, while approving the delegation the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs ignored position of 20 independent MPs who recommended Vitaliy Kupriy as a member of permanent delegation, despite the fact that the representative of UKROP was supported by most MPs who are not members of any faction.

The politician is looking forward to a fair consideration of his appeal in PACE and calls on the head of the Ukrainian delegation to “stop political fraud”.
