The MPs of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” have registered in the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution № 5675 on commemorating the 150th anniversary since birthday of Lesya Ukrainka.
The document provides organization of several events in honor of the outstanding poetess – preparing complete edition of her works in 16 volumes, researches, personal encyclopedia and dictionary of the master, conferences, popular films and TV programs, opening the website of Lesya Ukrainka Research Institute. If the resolution is adopted, the expenditures will be included to the state budget.
The initiator of the resolution was the MP Iryna Konstankevych, who is also of Volyn origin as Lesya Ukrainka. In addition, the draft document was also signed by the MPs Taras Batenko, Victor and Oleksandr Shevchenko, Vitaliy Kupriy, Oleksandr Dubinin and Valentyn Didych.
