The Prosecutor’s office of Dnipropetrovsk region within the investigation of a criminal proceeding has searched several companies engaged in road repairs for budget funds. The MP from UKROP Vitaliy Kupriy has written it on his Facebook page.
According to the MP, during the last year tenders for road repairs for more than 100 million hryvnias were won by the same company – PE “Segment”. The enterprise received funding from Kamianske city council (former Dniprodzerzhynsk) and Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration, which provided most of the funds. However, the repairs made by the company, caused lots of complaints of Kamianske residents: people, in particular, complained about procedural violations in asphalt laying, poor quality of pavement in places where the tram track runs, cracks in asphalt and so on. Vitaliy Kupriy has appealed to the Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko with the residents’ complaints.
“As far as I know, the contractors used fictitious purchases of goods and services and cashed not less than 20% of funds received from the budget. Only with “procurement” of benzene, which is not even used for repair works, the malefactors have cashed 16 million hryvnias. Most of this money was used as a payoff for the officials who hold tenders,” said the politician.
Vitaly Kupriy has also expressed confidence that this case will be brought to justice, despite the fact that it involves Kamianske Mayor Andriy Bilousov and the Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valentyn Reznichenko.
