The Tenth Party Congress of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” will be held on November, 2 in Kyiv, and on November, 24 there will be the XI Party Congress.
This decision was taken during the meeting of the UKROP political council on October, 25 with participation of 18 people.
“The next, tenth Party Congress will be held in early November. The issues that will be submitted for consideration are necessary for participation of the party in the upcoming elections in local communities. And on November, 24 we will elect the members of the UKROP statutory bodies, so that it could function according to the new party rules,” said the chairman of the party political council, MP Taras Batenko during the meeting. The MP has also added that the head of the party will be elected later due to the necessity to comply with all procedural requirements.
Thus, during the XI Party Congress it is planned, in particular, to approve the composition of the political council, to elect the chairman and the members of the Party Control Commission and the Internal Audit Committee.
According to the decision of the political council, from 2 to 18 November 2016 the UKROP regional party organizations and Kyiv party cell should hold conferences and elect delegates of the XI Party Congress. The number of the regional party representatives for participation in the Party Congress is determined according to their results in the local elections in 2015. In general 470 delegates are expected to participate.
The members of the political council on October, 25 approved the composition of the Organizing Committee of the XI Party Congress.
It is to be recalled, on September 29 in Kyiv the Ninth Congress of the UKROP Party was held, and the delegates adopted new democratic Constitution of the Party. It provides strengthening of the role of ordinary party members, social lifts, mechanisms preventing usurpation of power and procedure for internal primaries. Developing the new Party Rules the authors were basing on the constitutions of mass parties in Germany, France, Sweden and Belgium.
