Deputies of Zaporizhia City Council have prohibited the artists, who have publicly supported aggression of the Russian federation against Ukraine and occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, to participate in any cultural events in the city. The decision, initiated by the deputy of the UKROP faction, ATO veteran Oleg Kolomoets was supported by Zaporizhia City Council during the session on August, 25. 43 in 64 deputies voted for it.
According to the approved document Zaporizhia also prohibits tours, concerts, and other events involving people who publicly do not consider the so-called DNR and LNR to be terrorist organizations, or call for violent changes of Ukraine’s borders, overthrow of the constitutional orders or seizure of state power. In addition, cultural activities in the city are prohibited to “the persons who have hold concerts and participated in other cultural activities in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian aggression, at the same time recognizing the illicit exclusive control of Russia as an aggressor over the occupied territories,” states the text of the decision. And now the artists, who participated in the concerts in Russia since the beginning of the aggression, also cannot give concerts in the city.
The decision of Zaporizhia City Council was adopted in order to reduce ideological influence of the artists who support invader’s aggression against Ukraine.
Earlier, at the initiative of UKROP performances by pro-Russian artists were prohibited in Lviv and Lviv region.
