Zaporizhia City Council appeals to the President and Parliament on liberating Yevgen Panov from captivity

The deputies of Zaporizhia City Council during their session on August 25 supported an appeal to the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada with a demand to liberate Yevgen Panov. This decision, initiated by the Head of UKROP faction in the City Council Mykhailo Prasol, was supported by 53 deputies.

Text of the appeal was read out from a rostrum during the session by the deputy of UKROP faction, a combat veteran, who took part in military actions in the East of Ukraine, a head of ATO advisory centre attached to ​​Zaporizhia Regional State Administration Oleg Kolomoets. The document, in particular, states the need for the President’s and the Parliament’s assistance on liberating the volunteer Yevgen Panov, who was detained by the Russian security forces and accused of being a member of a subversive group that allegedly plotted terrorist attacks on the territory of occupied Crimea.

“We appeal to you with the demand to take personal control of liberating a patriot of our country – Yevgen Panov – and returning him home,” says the statement.

In order to support Yevgen Panov his fellow soldiers and other UKROP members from Energodar have also come to the session of Zaporizhia City Council.

As it is known, during the recent local elections Yevgen Panov ran for Energodar City Council as the UKROP party candidate.
