UKROP requires the Central Election Commission to protect the electoral rights of the citizens and to appeal to the law enforcement in order to check the information on the parliamentary candidates at midterm elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who are namesakes of the UKROP candidate – Oksana Valentynivna Tomchuk. Until this information is examined the party asks not to register such parliamentary candidates as Tomchuk Oksana Ivanivna (Kirovohrad), Tomchuk Oksana Valeriivna and Tomchuk Oksana Ivanivna (Kharkiv). The party filed the appropriate appeal to the CEC on June 21.
The representatives of UKROP note that there is an attempt to mislead voters in the 27th district. Thus Tomchuk Oksana Ivanivna, a resident of Kirovohrad, states in her documents submitted to the CEC that she is a member of the political party “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP”. While the political force emphasizes that the information on party affiliation of Tomchuk Oksana Ivanivna is false and this is an attempt to skew results of the vote as this candidate has never been in the UKROP party list.
In addition, according to the representatives of UKROP, two candidates with the name of Oksana Tomchuk, have applied for registration to impede the election of the candidate from the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP”. “In our opinion, when registering the candidate, all submitted papers should be examined within the context of intentional criminal actions committed by the candidate in order to mislead the CEC and the voters providing information that exclude the possibility to be elected people’s deputy of Ukraine or could affect the election results,” says the appeal.
UKROP considers that it is entirely possible that the documents submitted by the clone candidates may also provide the false information on age, nationality or convictions. Consequently the conclusion on veracity of information should be based on the results of a comprehensive examination of the data contained in the submitted documents and the circumstances that have led to the submission of false information, – stress the representatives of UKROP.
The party emphasizes that “clone candidates” may be an evidence of a crime under the Article 157 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights) and asks the CEC to refrain from registering Tomchuk Oksana Ivanivna (Kirovohrad), Tomchuk Oksana Valeriivna and Tomchuk Oksana Ivanivna (Kharkiv) until the law enforcement agencies check the facts given in the appeal of UKROP.
It is to be recalled, the MP Andriy Denysenko has written on his Facebook page that in the list of candidates for the parliamentary mandate at midterm elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the 27th district in Dnipro there are three “clones” of the UKROP candidate Oksana Valentynivna Tomchuk. He has also noted that “dubbing candidates” submit their documents as self-nominated candidates at the last moment.
