The legendary Soviet dissident Stepan Khmara will become a representative of Oksana Tomchuk, candidate of the “Ukrainian Patriots Association –UKROP” at midterm elections to the Parliament in the 27th district in Dnipro. The member of the presidium of UKROP political council Hennady Korban has written about it on his Facebook page.
“Both of us love Ukraine. Both of us are political prisoners – each in his time. Both of us have got a penal and an award for the independence of Ukraine. Both of us continue to serve our country. And now we have a common defender – Oksana Tomchuk,” said Hennady Korban.
It is to be recalled, Oksana Tomchuk is Hennady Korban’s lawyer who represented his interests during the trials in 2015-2016. Stepan Khmara was many times present at the court hearings of Korban’s case. According to him, there was an organized political persecution of the member of UKROP.
