Massive fight erupted between the law enforcers and the activists at Lviv city council. People tried to break into the city hall during the session of the City Council that firstly had to consider the report of the Mayor Andriy Sadovyi concerning the situation at Hrybovytske landfill. This issue was initiated by the UKROP faction. However, the mayor ignored the session.

The citizens who came to the session of Lviv City Council were met by about 500 well-armed law enforcers – with body armours and helmets. People demand the resignation of Andriy Sadovyi. When the crowd tried to break into the city hall, the law enforcers used tear gas, probably pepper spray, as the eyewitnesses say. According to local media, during the clashes three activists have suffered injuries. The number of police and security forces in the City Council increased.

The law enforcers began to gather near the city hall in the morning. Ihor Telishevskyi, the head of the UKROP faction in Lviv City Council, has posted on his Facebook page photos of the officers of the National Guard in front of the city hall and around it.

“Lviv has never seen anything like that. Andriy Sadovyi worries about his safety,” said the member of UKROP.

According to the witnesses, the session of Lviv City Council is officially closed. However, people do not go away. They demand that Andriy Sadovyi be present there, while he, according to one of the versions, is now at the hearing of the case concerning the attack on his house. Public discussion was announced at the session hall of the City Council. Those who wish to speak put their names to the list of speakers. The speeches are time-limited. Live broadcast from the session hall is not available. The representatives of the City Council are absent. The law enforcers continue to be in the building of the city hall and around it.
