The fire at Hrybovytske landfill cannot be completely put out because of the danger of a new collapse. The deputy of Lviv city council elected from the “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP”, chairman of the executive committee of the NGO “Varta 1” Ihor Zinkevych has written it on his Facebook page.
“Currently, Hrybovytske landfill fire continues to burn and release smoke. The fire seats cannot be completely put out as it is dangerous now to pour water in this part of the landfill because of the threat of a new large collapse, and due to the fact that there is a big crack,” wrote Ihor Zinkevych.
The deputy also said that fire engines cannot reach to the place where the waste fire continues to smolder, while there is no other equipment that could finally put out the fires.
