The Mayor of Dnipropetrovsk Borys Filatov is going to appeal to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman with a proposal to hold the Eurovision Song Contest in the city on the Dnipro. He has written about it on his Facebook page.

Borys Filatov emphasizes that Dnipropetrovsk has stopped the so-called “Russian world”, sheltered 76 thousand displaced persons from the Ukrainian Donbas, and became a birthplace of the volunteer movement when the Russian Federation started its aggression against Ukraine. In addition, the city is the heart of the Cossack lands, where the most powerful and the biggest national communities are concentrated.

“These are just a few reasons why to hold Eurovision in Dnipropetrovsk. I am preparing an appeal to the Prime Minister for tomorrow,” wrote the mayor.

According to Borys Filatov, the city would be able to host the song competition successfully due to the developed infrastructure, as well as unity and teamwork in the city and regional councils and regional state administration.
