By the end of this year adaption of the novel “Black Raven”, written by the Ukrainian author and the member of UKROP political council Vasyl Shklyar, will begin filming, - said the writer during the art festival “Ї” in Ternopil.

“This year we start filming “Black Raven”. Now producers continue their work on the adaptation, the main storylines are to be identified. The novel is to be cut all over. Because film is a different genre, where the author is not a writer, but a director,” said Vasyl Shklyar in his interview to the journalists.

According to him there will be cinema and television film versions.

In addition, the writer hopes that another novelette “Black Sun” (or “Ballad of the Azov brothers”) will be also filmed. It tells about the modern Russian-Ukrainian war. Vasyl Shklyar believes that this could be a unique project, because Azov soldiers, who are the heroes in the book, could play themselves in the film.

“I dream about it and somehow I think this would be possible,” said the writer.

According to Vasyl Shklyar, “Black Sun” is his first novel written from life. He said he wrote about the members of Azov as he was in close relationship with this regiment: writer has frequently visited soldiers and read them the novel “Marusya”. But when he presented this novelette to the soldiers, he was really excited: “I have read them a few passages, but I was afraid they could say “You know, man, war is different”. But the guys have very positively perceived the “Ballad of the Azov brothers”.

As it is known, film adaptation of Vasyl Shklyar’s novel “Black Raven” is made by “1 +1 Media Group”.
