“Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” together with the other pro-Ukrainian political parties and public organizations who want to defend the right to free vote of Kyiv citizens, will do everything possible to ensure that the elections to Kyiv district councils could be held on March 27, 2016, as it was announced before. The head of Kyiv city organization of UKROP Dmytro Simansky stated it to the journalists on January 29.

“We have decided that these elections must be held in Kyiv. We will do everything in order that it could be possible. We believe that the democratic forces will win a victory in these elections,” said the politician.

So on January 29, Dmytro Simansky with the leaders of the local organizations of seven political parties (Samopomich, Democratic Alliance, Power of People, Svoboda, Batkivshchyna, Civil Position and Republic) signed an open letter to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with the requirement to take immediate measures to prevent the disruption of the elections to the district councils of the capital.

In addition, the representatives of all political forces have lodged a complaint to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine against the judge of Kyiv District Administrative Court Oleksiy Ogurtsov who made knowingly unlawful decision on January 26, postponing the elections to the district councils of the capital for an indefinite term. It is to be recalled, this decision was made at the suit of the NGO “Nazhdak” and the MPs Rybchynskiy and Rudyk.

“Kyiv city organization of UKROP hopes for support of more parties and public organizations in order to consolidate their efforts in the fight for the right of Kyiv citizens to choose their government,” said Dmytro Simansky and on behalf of UKROP he once again called on the democratic forces to unite demanding to hold the elections to Kyiv district councils on March 27 this year.
