The MP and the member of presidium of UKROP political council Vitaliy Kupriy met the newly elected PACE President Pedro Agramunt on January 27. The politician has informed about it on his Facebook page.

At the meeting, in particular they have talked about political repressions in Ukraine and the case of one of the leaders of UKROP Hennady Korban. “As for the issues of political persecution and specifically Korban’s case it was decided to involve the PACE Monitoring Committee,” said the MP.

Vitaliy Kupriy considers significant the fact that Pedro Agramunt, who had headed PACE only two days ago, had one of his first official meetings with the Ukrainian opposition. According to the politician, this is a sign to the Ukrainian authorities and in particular to the President Petro Poroshenko, that the Europeans no longer believe in beautiful speeches of the Ukrainian officials and expect drastic reforms, willing to know the reasons for their sabotage. “Believe me, I have told about it in details!” said Vitaliy Kupriy, adding that the matters discussed during the meeting with PACE President, were so broad that they agreed to continue communication by electronic means.
