Night breaking into the central office of the party in Kyiv by unknown armed young men may be another continuation of the series of political repression, deployed by the current authorities against the democratic political force. The MP and the member of the inter-faction union UKROP Vitaliy Kupriy told it to the journalists on January 18.
“We can consider that perhaps there is some interference from outside and this is another stage of political persecution,” said the MP. He has also added that suspicions about the political background of this case are raised first of all by the fact that the invasion took place at night outside of working hours.
According to the member of UKROP political council, one of the men who had broken into the office, said he was a representative of the new owner of the building, where the UKROP party rents an office. While more than 20 unknown armed sporty young men who accompanied him were said to be the representatives of a security company.
It is to be noted that Vitaliy Kupriy and his assistants have recognized among the young people the so-called “titushkas” who were crushing the courtroom during the hearing of Dniprovsk District Court of Kyiv on December 27. “When I arrived to the scene, I saw at the entrance painfully familiar cars, the same that had brought “titushkas” to Dniprovsk court in order to disrupt the hearing within Korban’s case. Then they were crashing the furniture right and left, and tried to overthrow the video cameras to ensure the judge Chaus’ decision on closed court session. Now we see the same cars, the same snouts with broken noses and ears. Such a strange coincidence, before the voting for amendments to the Constitution ...,” said the MP.
At the same time Vitaliy Kupriy has reminded the journalists that at the office of UKROP party there are also situated the receiving offices of the people’s deputies of Ukraine. “In this building there are also situated the receiving offices of the people’s deputies of Ukraine, and there is property that is untouchable according to the law. There are also some data storage devices that could be wanted by some of our political opponents,” said the member of UKROP political council, and assumed that the political opponents might be interested in the night invasion of the building.
After the arrival of the law enforcement both parties of the conflict agreed to close all the entrances and exits in the office until they get the extract from the Register of Rights for Immovable Property that could define the fate of the office premises. According to Vitaliy Kupriy, the rental contract for this building was concluded at the end of August and should last at least one year.
Currently in the office of UKROP there are three guards and three alleged representatives of the security company who have broken into the building at night. Meanwhile, the chief of Kyiv police has personally guaranteed the MP that he would prevent any clashes on the scene.
It is to be recalled, on January 18 at about 21.00 more than 20 armed young men wearing balaclavas broke into the central office of UKROP party on Vozdvyzhenska street. The men said they were the representatives of the security company “Alpha-Shield”. However, they used the transport of the NGO “Livyy Bereg (Left Bank)”. According to the information that have got the representatives of UKROP, both organizations are affiliated with the President Poroshenko’s inner circle – namely with his personal friend and business partner Igor Kononenko.
