The majority of the Ukrainian citizens consider that the trial of the chairman of UKROP political council Hennady Korban is a politically motivated persecution. These are the facts of the survey conducted by the group “Rating”.

According to the survey, 40% of Ukrainians consider “Korban’s case” to be a manifestation of selective justice. On the territories of Donbass controlled by Ukraine 37% of citizens are of the same opinion.

UKROP affirms that this research is another evidence of the fact that in Ukraine there are political repressions that are aimed at destruction of the opponents of the current authorities. In particular, the MP and the member of UKROP political council Oleksandr Dubinin has stated: “This research has shown that the majority of Ukrainian citizens consider that the trial of Hennady Korban is a political process.”

The MP has explained the attempts of the Prosecutor’s Office to keep Hennady Korban under arrest by their fear of the politician who is a leader of the party with rapidly growing rating.

“They have the only goal – not to set Hennady Korban free. It is not even a house arrest – as so he could lead the party. This is an order aimed at paralyzing the political party UKROP,” said Oleksandr Dubinin.

The research was conducted on November 19-30 among 1800 persons from the age of 18 years in all the regions except for the occupied Crimea and territories in Donbas controlled by the militants. Additionally, 1284 respondents were polled on the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions controlled by Ukraine.
