The name of the judge of Dniprovsk District Court of Kyiv Mykola Chaus, who has made decision on Hennady Korban’s arrest, has miraculously disappeared from the list of judges for dismissal that is to be considered by the High Council of Justice on January 14.  Hennady Korban’s lawyer Oksana Tomchuk has stated it during the press briefing after the hearing within the case of the chairman of UKROP political council that was held in Kyiv Court of Appeal.

The lawyer said that the question on judges’ dismissal, including the judge Chaus who had made illegal decisions against the Automaidan activists, had to be considered by the High Council of Justice on December 17, 2015, but then the meeting did not take place, and it was postponed on January 14.

“Tomorrow the question on the dismissal of all judges who were not taken into consideration on December 17 will be considered, but Mr. Chaussy does not appear among them. So now the question arises: why does the High Council of Justice have no claims against him anymore?” said Oksana Tomchuk.

According to the lawyer, the “disappearance” of this judge from the candidate list for dismissal confirms position of Hennady Korban’s defence and proves that with the “right” decision in this case Mykola Chaus has got the opportunity to go on wearing his judicial robe.
