The current authorities have failed the pension reform. Ukrainian pensioners will only live better when the incomes of working citizens increase. The MP from UKROP Oleksandr Shevchenko stated it in Facebook live.

“If the pensioners eventually received additional 200-400 hryvnias – this is a temporary positive decision, but this is not a reform. The pension reform will start if the wages of Ukrainians rise, because pension contributions are directly proportional to the incomes of citizens,” noted the UKROP member.

According to the MP, the minimum salary in Ukraine should be at least 500-700 dollars. Under these conditions, the pension will rise averagely to 300-400 dollars per month.

“You’ll say that this is unreal, but it is truly possible. They can make up various subsidies, allowances or subventions, which actually do not exist. On the other hand, they can simply pay people decent wages and direct the money to the Pension Fund. Then every person will receive a decent pension,” said Oleksandr Shevchenko.
