The Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor Nasalyk is not able to bring the energy sector out of the crisis. This was stated by the MP from UKROP Vitaliy Kupriy on the air of the 112 TV channel.
“The industry has been driven into an absurd critical situation, and now they are looking for borrowing from the International Monetary Fund. They have stolen everything on the ground, and now they went to the West with an outstretched hand: “Give us, please, money...” Mr. Nasalyk is not able to bring energy out of the crisis either in the future or today,” said Vitaliy Kupriy.
According to the representative of UKROP, the leadership of the profile ministry has deliberately driven the Ukrainian energy industry into a critical state. At one time, Ihor Nasalyk intentionally put pressure on the wholesale electricity market, forcing nuclear power plants to dwell on unplanned repairs. As a result, consumers were deprived of cheap electricity, while energy generating companies gained excess profit.
This, for example, concerns the Donbasenergo PJSC, which belongs to the fugitive ex-president Viktor Yanukovych, and still has one CHP plant in the occupied territory.
“He (the profile minister – Ed.) gave directions to nuclear power plants where the electric power is cheaper, to dwell on unplanned repairs, so that the occupants could mine more (coal) and get the opportunity to earn,” said the UKROP member.
According to the MP, Ukraine has enough internal reserves to overcome the energy crisis. However, minister Nasalyk is unable to cope with his duties.
“The minister cannot come to people with a normal program and explain the miners what is happening and where we are moving,” said Vitaliy Kupriy.
It should be noted that in early July mass strikes of miners began in different regions of Ukraine. Miners demand to pay arrears in wages from April.
