In the event of a victory in the next presidential election, participant of the UKROP party presidential primaries, MP Oleksandr Shevchenko will first submit to the parliament bills on the impeachment of the head of state and the right to withdraw the deputies for non-fulfillment of promises. The UKROP member has stated it commenting on to the journalists.

“This is a draft law on impeachment of the president, which should be submitted to the parliament as urgent. This is an opportunity to recall deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. And most importantly – it is necessary to start the process of practical decentralization of power,” said Oleksandr Shevchenko.

The MP has noted that the relevant bills should be submitted to the parliament first and foremost to change the situation in the country. In addition, the next head of state should ensure the real independence of different branches of power. The Presidential Administration, the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers and the courts should act within the limits of their powers determined by law. Those officials who do not perform their functions must leave their positions.

“Thus, we will finally be able to talk about building a democracy. If today the president cannot be removed without Maidan and the revolution, and the MP cannot be held accountable for his actions or inaction, this is not democracy,” said the UKROP member.

At the same time, the future president should ensure decent life for the citizens. First of all, it is about decent wages, proper social security, guaranteed pension payments, the right to invest in various pension funds and the ability to drive high-quality roads.

“The state should take care of its citizens. Respect for a person in the state automatically guarantees the dignity of such a state in the world,” said Oleksandr Shevchenko.
