The Ukrainian authorities should enhance the development of a powerful middle class, which will be the basis of the domestic economy. This was stated during a meeting with the representatives of Khmelnytsky regional organization of UKROP by the participant of the party’s presidential primaries, MP Oleksandr Shevchenko.
“A person should feel free, having the opportunity to have a good rest, to buy a house and to make savings. We should form a powerful middle class in Ukraine as a solid foundation of the economy,” said Oleksandr Shevchenko.
According to the MP, the average salary in Ukraine should be equivalent to about one thousand dollars. However, for this the current authorities are lacking political will. As a result, millions of impoverished citizens are forced to survive in misery.
According to the UKROP member, social justice will be restored when incomes of the ordinary Ukrainians will be commensurate with salaries of the representatives of pro-government structures.
“A judge or a deputy cannot receive a salary that is 30 times bigger than a minimum,” said the MP.
During the meeting, the UKROP members also discussed the ways to overcome the crisis, accelerate reforms and fight corruption.
The event was attended by about three hundred representatives of the political force.
