The representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora who now live abroad should unite their efforts to win the war against the aggressor. This was stated during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s delegation with the representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada by Victor Shevchenko, MP from UKROP.

“I am convinced that all Ukrainians, regardless of their place of residence, should unite their efforts for the victory over the enemy,” said the UKROP member.

The MP has noted that thanks to the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada, the world knows the truth about the events in Ukraine.

“Ukrainians feel constant support of the Canadian diaspora. Our compatriots, even living beyond the ocean, build and develop their native land. Mostly thanks to the diaspora, Canada knows the truth about the annexation of the Crimea, the war in the east and political prisoners of the Kremlin,” said the representative of UKROP.

Within the framework of the working visit, MPs met with the President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Pavlo Grod and leaders of other non-governmental organizations and unions. During the meetings parliamentarians discussed issues of the economy, trade, tourism, Ukrainian reforms, anticorruption court, as well as the Kremlin propaganda and the Ukrainian-Russian war.

“Ukrainians in Canada are doing a lot for Ukraine and, of course, they are interested in all the political and economic processes that are taking place here,” said Victor Shevchenko.

It is to be reminded that the Ukrainian diaspora have recently organized a series of actions in all parts of Canada in support of Oleg Sentsov and other political prisoners of the Kremlin, in particular near the Russian Consulate General in Toronto.
